Waiting and Serving

I often listen to Pandora on the iPad while I clean. It passes the time and calms Makayla while she colors so I can get things done.  The other day a song called "While I'm Waiting" by John Waller (lyrics are at the bottom). I guess it's in the movie Fireproof but I didn't remember it. I was doing dishes and had to stop to listen to the whole song then download it on iTunes. The song, of course, spoke to me because of the waiting concept. It's kind of the story of our lives right now. But the other part that made me think was the chorus where he talks about serving and worshiping while he's waiting. I often feel like our lives are on hold until we can travel and bring our little girl home. That part of the song reminded me that's not how it is at all. My life is still happening while I wait. No, we can't make our plans to far in the future right now because we don't have a plan. BUT for now that is the way God wants it. He wants us to live one day at a time trusting only Him for our future. I am supposed to be happily living every day serving God while I wait for him to take us on the next step. God sees my life from the end of it and He has a purpose for everything... even the painful waiting. If you have ever been or are now in a waiting period of your life this song will comfort you too.

"While I'm Waiting" by John Waller

I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You Lord
And I am hopeful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it is painful, but patiently I will wait

And I will move ahead bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting I will serve You

While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait

I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You Lord

And I am peaceful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it's not easy no, but faithfully I will wait
Yes, I will wait

And I will move ahead bold and confident

Taking every step in obedience

While I'm waiting I will serve You

While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait
