We just went and opened our separate adoption account. It's in the form of a savings account so we can get some interest on it too. Any money that we are given, we fundraise, or we save off of our pay will be put in that account which is totally separate from our regular account. We felt this was the best way to keep the finances from overlapping. So now have no fear if you choose to help us along our way we are not spending that money in any other area of our lives. We greatly appreciate what anyone wants to give us and would never want that to be for us. It is for our little girl. And in case anyone was wondering we are putting any extra from our own checks into this account also. We are not expecting other people to do this for us. We just know that there is no way we could save enough on our own.
The other nice thing about having a separate account is if God decides not to give us our little girl we can now donate whatever we have put into that account to either Steven Curtis Chapman's fund or to a couple the adoption agency may know of that is close to their goal. Of course, we are praying this doesn't happen but we can't know what God has in store for us.
